Linda Cheryl (Hill) Carter has lived in Maryland since 1969 when her military family was transferred to the Washington metropolitan area. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1978, and the University of Maryland School of Law in 1982. She was admitted to the Maryland Bar that same year.
From the time she was in college until recently, Linda worked at a very well-respected Prince George’s County law firm. When she was first admitted to the Bar, the firm was small, and that small size afforded Linda to handle a broad spectrum of matters including contracts, domestic litigation, estate planning, trusts, zoning, business, administrative, general civil litigation, and juvenile adjudication.
As the firm grew, Linda focused her practice on businesses, both big and small, needing or wanting alcoholic beverage licenses, and related business and transactional assistance. This focus has allowed her to understand the businesses she represents and develop skills which benefit her clients. She understands the economics of small liquor stores, family-owned convenience stores, and fledgling restaurants. She understands how to meld the interests of major corporations with the peculiarities of local liquor licensing laws.
After having handled more than two thousand cases before liquor boards throughout the Maryland, Linda has developed a rapport with administrative staff, attorneys and board members which directly benefits her clients. She has a reputation for honesty, advocacy, and efficiency. Equally important, she understands that her success helps to guarantee the financial success of her clients whether their business is a small 600 square feet family operated business, or a 100,000 square foot entertainment facility operated by a SEC regulated corporation. Linda has assisted clients in obtaining licenses for football stadiums, hotels, restaurants, country clubs, fraternal organizations, bowling centers, universities, casinos and liquor stores.
Linda is married to her law school sweetheart and is the proud mother of two children, a beautiful granddaughter and grandson. She loves to cook, bake, travel, sew, and spend time with her family. Not surprisingly, she loves a great cocktail or good glass of wine!
